
Course Requirements for the Journalism & Communication Studies Bachelor’s Program
Students must complete a minimum of 128 credits, including 32 required credits from the University, 64 to 69 required credits from our department, and credits from other elective courses.
Three levels of courses are available, including literacy, core, and implementation courses. Our courses can be divided into 10 categories:

Our courses can be categorized into three different levels. The first level includes core-knowledge courses in social sciences and humanities, speech communication, journalism and communication studies, and international perspective; the second level includes basic courses in communication research and journalism in practice; and the third level includes more advanced courses in photojournalism, broadcast journalism, online journalism, and public journalism.
